Population grow in the next half of the century will produce more elders than ever been in the world before. World life expectancy at the birth constantly grows, at the 1950 life expectancy in the world was around 45 years, at the 2000-05, there was around 65 years, and projected to be in 2045-50 around 76 years. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which also cost billions of dollars, are the leading causes of death around the world. Stroke, coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, are main disorders of heart and blood vessels. Estimated, that at 2008 that, CVD represented 30.5% (17.33 million) of global deaths [117], and projected that it remains next half of the century, if appropriate action is not taken. Incidence to have heart risk is the consequence of ageing. According to World Heart Federation (WHO) risk to get a stroke doubles every decade after 55 years old and grows advancing age.

According to European Union (EU) official page, cardiovascular diseases are the largest cause of deaths as well as expenditure costs in health care systems. Estimated, that in 2006, CVD comprises 10% of the total health care expenditure across the EU.

The most common cause, to have cardiovascular diseases, are among older people [117-118], however, smoking, unhealthy food, to little physical activity, obesity, harmful alcohol use also are essential factors increase heart risk [116].

Medical diagnostic systems (like personal health assistants) designed for the home-care environment would be economically, and socially beneficial. As the result, early disease treatment by detection of abnormalities could reduce hospitalization costs, doctor visits and health care labour force. Moreover, more individuals moved from hospitals to home-care environment as well would be beneficial.

Main objective of the successfully functional system is to decrease CVD, by correct cardiovascular risk assessment. In such a way system could help a physician to assist and diagnose heart condition in time. Moreover, timely diagnosis could prevent serious consequences like heart attack or stroke and decrease hospitalization costs. Other means like awareness raising and future heart risk prediction are also important. Awareness of the health condition is the significant factor to reduce the CVD, as Prof. Dan Gaita said at the conference of “Planning for a Heather Europe” that is important to rise-awareness of the healthier lifestyles, which is a consequence of reduction of cardiovascular diseases by 10% in Romania [119].

World demographic changes such as rising life expectancy and declining fertility imbalance social and economic systems, by adjusting work vs. retired ratio from 5:1 to 2:1 [123]. Most of the high-income (or developed) countries already expanded or expanding their social security systems to improve old as well as young quality of life, while population is aging [118]. However, strains will remain since elder population grows faster.
